Today’s Flickr Friday photo comes from Flickr user t3h_sw3d3, whose photo of the Industrial sunset we featured a few weeks back. This photo was taken at the Maas & Waldstein complex in Newark.
Here’s hoping that, as Booker’s administration starts to curb crime in the city, that rampant graffiti in the city will start to become a thing of the past.

It’s a very popular tag to photograph. In fact, that whole factory complex has a lot of photographic opportunities.
In case you’re wondering what kind of factory Maas and Waldstein was, it produced nail polish for Revlon back in the day. I think the factory closed up shop some time in the 80s but I’m not 100% sure. Maas and Waldstein is located exactly on the border of Newark and Belleville in between Route 21 and McCarter Highway off of Mill Street. The old Boonton Line is adjacent to the factory.
Eric, thanks! I was trying to find any information about Maas & Waldstein, but Wikipedia didn’t come through this time.
