Man shot in leg outside Newark eatery
Officers responded to the parking lot of the International House of Pancakes restaurant on Bergen Street about 4:15 a.m. where they found the man, said Detective Todd McClendon, a police spokesman. The victim had been shot in the upper left thigh, he said.
Officers did not find physical evidence of a shooting at the IHOP, but did recover several shell casings on nearby Fairmount Street, where residents had reported shots fired, McClendon said.
Investigators are trying to determine if the two incidents are related, McClendon said.
