One such interesting use of the plant is for privacy. What people do is to plant them in small clusters along their hedges such that it would grow ten to fifteen feet in height to form a tight grouping. This would in turn ensure that whatever is behind such a structure goes unseen.
Not all category of the plant are suitable to grow indoor. Notable examples include extremely tall bamboo which would obviously be too big to grow inside your home. Although most tall species of bamboo can grow up to 50 feet in length the tallest one measured till date was a staggering 137 feet! It was found to be the Dendrocalmus giganteus in the Indian state of North Bengal. To this day this humongous plant type holds the record for being the largest bamboo ever. It had a massive culm of about 19 inches in diameter which was required to support the dizzying height. Additionally the canopy of a single culm was measured at an amazing 70 feet.
