No Cause for Indictment has been described as “probably the most moving and instructive book yet written on any of the bloody civil disturbances of the sixties” by the New Yorker and is being reissued by “Melville House Publishing” in honor of the 40th anniversary of the tragic events of ’67.
Here’s an event description from the NJ Historical Society website:
Join Melville House Publishing and The New Jersey Historical Society on Wednesday, July 11, for a book talk about “No Cause for Indictment: An Autopsy of Newark” by Ronald Porambo, a one time Newark resident and journalists. Orginally pubished in 1971 and due to be re-released this month, No Cause for Indictment is a moving account of one of the worst urban riots in American history. A panel discussion will delve further into the build-up, turbulance, and aftermath of those six chaotic days in 1967.
