		<description>Ryan, good point, and it occurred to me as I was writing.  As the banks say: past performance doesn&#039;t guarantee future returns.

Still, we would do better to vote for candidates based on their resumes rather than words and push for legislation that supports transparency and openness (like the anti-money laundering laws that were Spitzer&#039;s undoing).</description>

		<description>Didn&#039;t Spitzer have a record of fighting corruption? I personally don&#039;t have a major problem with what he did unless he was using state money, but it seems to me that folks voting for those with a good record really won&#039;t help.</description>

At least the city doesn&#039;t have to foot the legal bill, with this verdict. The city is vindicated at last, but will it, or its residents, see a dime of what was stolen from them? &quot;Hardly a proud day&quot; is absolutely right.</description>
