I was informed by a Rutgers employee that the 2,800 current parking spots serve 10,500 students, as well as all Rutgers employees. The university has tried and is to try alternative ways to deal with its parking needs.

I would say the Mayor has abandoned the Black SUV atleast in the mornings. I saw our Mayor Cory Booker jogging on Bergen Street and 15th Avenue this morning, alone with no security, and waving and wishing everyone a good morning! Newark still has a long way to go, but atleat the Mayor is showing us how to be healthier by example.

The city can make a lot of money with parking tickets in the Ironbound, but it’s a free for all in the neck. I see a one policeman in the morning giving out tickets on Ferry Street but he never goes down the side streets that are full of double and triple parked cars. This has been going on for years.
