Gallery Aferro has donated our space to Newark-Essex Pride for the weeklong events– film screenings, discussions, a fashion show– that began this Monday with the first-ever raising of the rainbow flag at City Hall.

On Monday night during a professional meet and greet, a rainbow appeared in the sky over the old burlesque theatre on Market Street. Everyone hurried out of the gallery and gathered on the sidewalk to look at it and snap pictures.
