When/Where: Wednesday, Oct 21, 10:30am; Steps of Essex County Courthouse, NewarkState Leaders to Support Voting “Yes” on Public Question #1 to Continue Historic Preservation, Investment in New Jersey
State leaders will gather on the steps of the Essex County Courthouse on Wednesday, October 21st at 10:30 am to urge residents of Newark and across Essex County to vote Yes on Public Question #1 on November 3rd. Voting Yes on November 3rd will continue New Jersey’s commitment to the NJ Historic Trust, which contributed to the major renovation of the historic courthouse. Today, the beautifully restored courthouse is a signature of Newark’s revitalization progress, and an example of the wise investments that New Jersey must continue to make. But the NJ Historic Trust is essentially out of funds for new investments, and can be renewed only by voters on November 3rd. Voting Yes on November 3rd will also continue the state’s Green Acres and NJ Farmland Preservation programs, which help maintain our clean water, natural lands, and working farms for our children and grandchildren.
