April 7, 2009 in New Jersey Institute of Technology by Ken Walker
The CCS Capstone Program at NJIT proudly invites you to attend “Mission Impossible!” 10th Capstone Students Showcase: Senior Undergraduate, Freshmen College, High School, and Middle School teams to present their Real World accomplishments
When: Wednesday, April 22, 2009, 11AM – 5:30PM
Where: NJIT at the Campus Center Atrium, Newark – NJ
The award-winning CCS Capstone Program at NJIT has become the hub of real world project-based learning and a center of value-added connectivity across the board! The program has achieved not only university-wide recognition but also national and international appreciation and its accomplishments were featured on TV stations and major newspapers in NJ.
The program has become a network of networks of more than 400 value-added industry connections and learning communities from 6th grade to PhD. Unlike any traditional program, capstone classes are run as virtual companies where students are CEO’s and team leaders.
The program also offers; a peer-to-peer free education network (Real World Open University) where career-driven training covers every thing from business to leadership skills to hands-on technical workshops taught by industry experts, advanced peers and capstone alumni.
In addition to industry-sponsored projects, the program offers unique tracks in: entrepreneurship projects (Create Your Own Company); teaching and advising (Students are Professors); empirical research papers carried out by undergraduate students; special training in leadership and project management and university-wide multidisciplinary projects experiences.
Our 10th showcase in Spring 2009 will feature:
- Real World projects sponsored by industry or initiated by entrepreneurial students. This includes a broad-array of multidisciplinary real world accomplishments carried out by senior/junior undergraduate students from three colleges, high school students and middle school students.
- An active open house for new sponsors, new university students, and new partners.
- A unique opportunity to introduce HS/MS students, parents and teachers to our year-round FREE Real World Connections Program for high school and middle school students – including our summer internship program (please see www.realworldconnections.net)
- One-of-a-kind Fast Career Fair to connect students instantly to job opportunities and connect companies to potential hires.
- An advising day to connect our Capstone Industry and Alumni Advisory Board to current and future students.
- An open learning day to introduce our peer-to-peer Real World Open University to the world.
