Workers say group is paying low wages to build school in Newark

More than 150 construction workers rallied on the steps of Newark City Hall today to protest a nearby building project that they say is not hiring union workers.

The workers — who included plumbers, carpenters and other tradesmen — waved placards and distributed leaflets criticizing the nonprofit education group undertaking the project.
