Mayor James pulls a no-show at an event made to showcase his endorsement for Ron Rice. You just have to feel bad for Rice — that’s quite a blow one week from Election Day. One wonders how he’ll perform at “tonight’s debate”:http://blog.newarker.info/2006/04/27/the-main-event/.
It was supposed to be the rally where Mayor Sharpe James displayed his charisma and charm on behalf of Ronald L. Rice. Finally, according to a flyer announcing “The Real Deal Wants The Rice,” the city’s political general would vigorously support his foot soldier -– the former Marine, Newark police officer, councilman, state senator and deputy mayor.
There was just one problem: Sharpe James never showed up.
