New York Times: Teenage Girl Held in Death of Another
Painfully tragic details emerge about Sunday’s killing of a teenager by another girl. Newarkers close to the story have commented on the blog entry I posted Monday, reinforcing that these two were normal kids before something went horribly awry.

Both girls enjoyed music and photography, relatives said, and may also have had a romantic interest in the same man. A neighbor, who said she discovered the dying victim, said that the fight stemmed from jealousy.

The suspect was charged with murder and possessing a weapon. She is being held in juvenile detention, and prosecutors have 30 days to decide whether to charge her as an adult.
