City of Newark Holds Registration for Camp Watershed
Sign your kids up for free summer camp!

Mayor Cory A. Booker announced today that registration is going on now for Camp Watershed, the annual FREE two-week day camp for Newark youngsters aged 7 through 14. The camp, located at Pequannock Watershed in West Milford, offers Newark youth four summer sessions of hiking, rope-climbing, gardening, boating, swimming, computers, field sports, Nature Quest, and arts and crafts.

Families wishing to register must get the forms in advance from the Division of Recreation and Cultural Affairs at 94 William Street. Parents must provide medical and health histories of their children. Registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis. Deadline to register is June 2.

Mayor Cory A. Booker announced today that registration is going on now for Camp Watershed, the annual FREE two-week day camp for Newark youngsters aged 7 through 14. “Camp Watershed offers wholesome activities that will teach Newark’s children valuable life skills and give them a greater appreciation of the beauty of nature,” Mayor Booker said. “I urge all youngsters to take advantage of the opportunity to have a great summer adventure.”

Children attending Camp Watershed will be picked up daily from one of seven sites by Recreation buses at 8:30 a.m. and returned there no later than 6 p.m. A list of sessions and pick-up/drop-off sites is attached. Breakfast and lunch are provided.

The Camp Watershed program is being conducted by the Department of Neighborhood and Recreational Services’ Division of Recreation and Cultural Affairs.
