A heat advisory from AccuWeather (which they lovingly craft in all uppercase) warns of temperatures spiking at 104°. Drink plenty of fluids, use sunblock lotion, maybe even consider an umbrella today and take it easy — especially if you’re attending Day 2 of the Portugal Day Festival.

The City of Newark has also opened cooling centers for residents who would like to stay out of the heat, but don’t have air conditioning.

A HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TO 7 PM EDT MONDAY.HAZYHOT AND HUMID CONDITIONS WILL CONTINUE TODAY AND AGAIN MONDAY. HIGH TEMPERATURES ARE EXPECTED TO TOP OFF IN THE MIDDLE 90S TODAYAND MIDDLE TO UPPER 90S ON MONDAY. DEWPOINTS WILL RUN IN THE UPPER 60S TO AROUND 70 BOTH DAYS. THIS WILL RESULT IN HEAT INDICES AROUND 100 TODAYAND BETWEEN 100 AND 104 ON MONDAY.A HEAT ADVISORY IS ISSUED WHEN HIGH HUMIDITIES ARE EXPECTED TO COMBINE WITH HOT TEMPERATURES TO MAKE IT FEEL LIKE IT IS 100 TO 104 DEGREES. DRINK PLENTY OF FLUIDSSTAY IN AN AIR-CONDITIONED ROOMSTAY OUT OF THE SUNAND CHECK UP ON RELATIVES AND NEIGHBORS.
